About Me

I am a violinist currently living in Rochester, NY with my pianist husband Kevin Wang. As local musicians, we want to share music, joy, and love with our communities.

I am originally from Beijing, China. I started playing violin when I was four years old. As a kid, I had always loved music and the violin, but the idea of being a professional musician always seemed doubtful and distant. I came to the US in 2017 to attend the University of Rochester. I started my undergraduate studies as a history and math double major and treated music as a hobby most of the time.

My trip to Paris, France during the summer of 2019 forever changed my life. I had the great honor of attending the prestigious Nadia Boulanger Summer Institute, where I discovered the pure happiness of performing music and my role as a classical music performer - to deliver the message for the composers from centuries ago. In Paris, I decided to become a professional violinist.

After finishing my bachelor’s degree at the University of Rochester, I moved to Toronto, Canada to pursue my master’s degree in violin performance. I played with various music groups, from the National Arts Centre Orchestra to many multi-genre bands.

During my years of explorations, I found my true passion as a soloist and recitalist, as well as my fondness for the small-town lifestyle. I moved back to Rochester, NY in the summer of 2024, and ever since then, I have been enjoying my life with my husband, with whom we present music in a way that we find meaningful and curate concert programs that can truly tell stories and to honor the culture and the history of western classical music, and bring joy to people we deeply care about.

Outside of music, I am a pet parent to three guinea pigs and one rabbit. I also enjoy playing board games, drawing, cooking, baking, and visiting museums.
